Marketing for a new business: the first 90 days

When a business is new, nobody knows you yet. That is a limitation, but also an advantage: you can build marketing the right way from the start. This roadmap splits the first 90 days into three stages.

Days 1 to 30: foundation and clarity

  • Define customer and offer. Use the one-page marketing plan.
  • Take care of the basic brand: name, simple logo and colors.
  • Create your Google Business Profile. Step by step.
  • Set up WhatsApp Business with quick replies.
  • Open a simple page or a basic website showing how to reach you.

Days 31 to 60: first customers

  • Tell the people who already know you: friends, colleagues and customers from earlier work, with a clear message about what you do.
  • Ask for referrals and arrange local partnerships. See 15 ways to get customers.
  • Show the work: photos and short videos of what you do.
  • Ask for the first reviews from people who were served well.

Days 61 to 90: measure and adjust

  • Note where each contact came from.
  • Cut what did not bring contacts and repeat what did.
  • Work out what a customer is worth.
  • Only then consider a small ad test.

Common mistakes of a new business

  • Spending the budget on ads before service and offer are clear.
  • Trying to be on every network at once.
  • Not recording where customers come from.
  • Expecting results in a few days and giving up early.

An honest reminder

No plan guarantees customers. What it guarantees is that you will know what is working and will not spend in the dark.

Frequently asked questions

Where should the marketing of a new business start?

With clarity: what you sell, to whom and how customers reach you. Then the Google Business Profile and WhatsApp.

Do I need to advertise right away?

Not always. With a small budget, prioritize what is free or low-cost and only advertise when you know what a customer is worth.

How long until the first customers?

It varies a lot. People who already have a network often get the first ones through referrals. What matters is consistent action and measurement.
